Well, August is nearly here and in my world that means back to school and senior photos. I have been doing a little digital housecleaning this week, and thought I would share the last of my favorites from the inspiring Evoke Workshop I attended in Bend, Oregon in May.
These girls were so very sweet to drive out to meet us on a weekend (for some a few hours drive!) Their willingness to volunteer as models I think speaks to the fantastic experience a senior portrait session can be. In my sessions senior boys and girls alike get to play pretend and do a little dress-up. For most it has been years since they did that, theater students aside, that is. I tell dumb jokes, we both laugh. And I get to know some pretty wonderful kiddos. Some are already applying to colleges, some are just figuring out what comes after high school. But they all have a story, and meeting all these fresh faces is one of the reasons I do this job.
This summer has been a whirlwind for my family as we are doing a big home renovation and had to move out of our house. It will be very worth it in the end, but right now part of what is keeping me sane is doing fun stuff like planning senior sessions. I work closely with each client to create an experience unique to you. From choosing a location, be that urban, park, mountain or something else entirely, to clothing (that’s the dress up part) and what sort of vibe you envision. It is important to me for your photos to be all you. But I’m here to help you create that.
Most schools here in the Denver area have yearbook submission deadlines in October. So now is the time to book if you haven’t already.
And enjoy a few more images from the workshop.
Cheers!
